Georgiy Ivanchenko (2000, Borodyanka) works as a freelance documentary reporter and journalistic photographer since February 2022. For a year and a half he gave up permanent housing to document the war, starting in Borodyanka and traveling along the front line. While working from Bakhmut on a feature about Chasiv Yar, a Russian shell hit his car. This became a turning point in his practice. He continued reflecting on the numerous situations he encounters, while moving away from a purely informational approach. On the verge of document and art, Georgiy strives to capture a visual narrative of Ukraine’s history and emotions.
