Anton Shebetko (1990, Kyiv) lives and works in Amsterdam. Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Anton’s practice spans art, photography, curation, and writing. Shebetko works with themes of memory, identity loss and multiplicity of history as well as the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in Ukraine. Through his research Anton explores the role that photography and archival materials can play in revealing these stories. Devoted to telling the forgotten queer history of Ukraine; part of which is included in his book “A Very Brief and Subjective Queer History of Ukraine”.
